Artist Bio:

A multi-generation Seattle native, Teresa Spellman Gamble is an emerging painter whose vibrant, abstract compositions explore themes of self-discovery, exploration, and the human condition. Teresa’s works are characterized by saturated color palettes, dynamic brushstrokes, and expressive marks that invite reflection and emotional resonance.

Teresa is the co-founder and co-owner of Tinte Cellars, a Washington State winery with estate vineyards and a social mission of "Great Wine for the Greater Good." She leads the winery's philanthropic efforts, integrating her passion for community impact with the world of wine. Tinte Cellars regularly features ongoing exhibitions and rotating displays of local and regional artists at its two tasting room locations.

She holds a BA in English and an MPA in Public Administration from the University of Washington, where she spent over three decades in executive leadership. In 2024, she began painting professionally under the mentorship of California abstract artist Julianna Poldi, whose intuitive guidance helped Teresa embrace a deeper creative practice. She began selling her work later that year and donates 50% of all sales to nonprofit organizations.

Teresa spends her time between Seattle WA and Indian Wells CA and exhibits regularly throughout Washington and Southern California. She aims to engage viewers with the emotional and visual power of color and form. When she isn’t painting, Teresa enjoys time with her New York City-based sons, attending live music and theater, exercising, beachcombing, and traveling the globe with her husband, family and friends.

When Irish Eyes Remember

Artist Statement:

My inspiration comes from moments of reflection, the rich experiences I gather through travel, the natural world, and the unspoken beauty I’ve encountered in life’s complexities. Through painting, I’ve learned that creativity isn’t just an indulgence—it’s a necessity. It’s how I reclaim identity, find joy, and express the resilience shaped by life’s challenges.

Through my work, I aim to capture the essence of these inspirations, translating them into vibrant and dynamic forms on canvas. My hope is that my art offers viewers a sense of connection—and the courage to rediscover themselves, no matter where they are in their own journey.
