Encountering the Darkness and Brightness
Artist Statement:
My art works, which take place in a relative atmosphere, are nourished by abstract art, the free language of modern art that liberates my vision, rather than a concept of art confined within the boundaries of conventional, concrete images. They are inspired by mythological subject that explain there was a chaos all at the beginning while brightness and darkness overpower each other. In mythology, everything in the universe was set up in balance against imbalance; e.g. darkness in chaos, brightness to renewal, and birth to death. When the universe was existing, the darkness and brightness were on fight each other in chaos. The universe and life has been within this vicious cycle of contrasts. While all of these contradictions have been occurring since the universe was in existence, there is always renewal. The feathers that I constantly use, symbolize the renewal. My works expresses that there is no end or beginning. There is always regeneration in the universe and the world after all the chaos.
