Artist’s Bio:
Born in Idaho and nurtured by the enchanting landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, I am deeply inspired by the majesty of nature and the unique, low-angled light that graces this region. The local topography and natural beauty have always resonated with my soul, compelling me to capture the emotional essence of these moments in my artwork. Through my creations, I strive to evoke the same awe and wonder that one feels when witnessing the delicate interplay of light on a flower or tree. My passion for travel fuels my excitement for discovering new places and meeting diverse people, enriching my artistic journey.
Artist’s Statement:
I paint because the world won’t stay quiet in my mind. The flicker of wind, the shimmer of light on water—these moments call to me, demanding to be felt and transformed into color and texture.
Inspired by nature and Japanese fabric motifs, my work distills movement and form into vibrant compositions. Thick texture creates focal points that rise like memories, while delicate transparency evokes fleeting light. I explore the tension between contrast and harmony, stillness and energy, using layered textures to bring nature’s rhythms to life.
Creativity is as physical as it is visual—paint under my nails, charcoal on my hands, the raw, tactile joy of making. I want my work to stir something visceral, to capture the way nature stops us mid-step—not just to be seen, but to be felt.

The light pauses for the season
Theme:
A quiet celebration of nature’s cycles—joy, impermanence, and the fragile beauty found in moments that arrive, linger briefly, and then quietly move on.
Exhibition Statement:
The light pauses for the season is a series of paintings reflecting on nature’s cycles, where beauty is found in moments that arrive, linger briefly, and quietly pass. The work is intended to invite stillness—an opportunity to slow down and notice the fragile, ever-changing rhythms of life.
Working primarily in oil and cold wax, with layered papers and subtle metallic accents, the surfaces are built slowly and intentionally. Forms emerge, soften, and recede, echoing the way moments in life arrive fully formed and then quietly pass. The process allows for uncertainty, inviting chance and restraint to play equal roles.
Rather than capturing nature as subject, this work listens to it—honoring cycles of growth, fullness, and release. The paintings ask the viewer to slow down, to notice the pause, and to find beauty not in permanence, but in presence.
