Call for Art: Multitudes

2026 CoCA Members’ Show: MULTITUDES

Seattle (May 21, 2026) - Seattle’s Center on Contemporary Art (CoCA) is accepting submissions for its annual Members’ Show. Submissions due June 13, the show, titled MULTITUDES, will run from July 2 – July 26, 2026. The call is open to all artists, ages and media including 2D, 3D, multi-media, installation, literary, sound, and performance. MULTITUDES is a quasi-juried salon-style exhibition of CoCA members’ artworks at its downtown Seattle gallery in the heart of the Pioneer Square Arts District.

CoCA has always been more than just a gallery: it is an experimental ecosystem built on the labor and creativity of thousands of artists, volunteers, and collaborators since 1980. Today, as we expand into a new era of artistic research, our annual members' exhibition reflects that exact energy: MULTITUDES turns the spotlight entirely on the present moment of your practice. We invite you to submit your current work, completely free from the restrictions of a singular theme. MULTITUDES celebrates the experimental and expansive paths our artists are charting right now.

Our juror this year is CoCA’s own Curator Emeritus, David Francis PhD. David Francis works as an artist-curator with a practice informed by archaeology and poetry. He has taught at universities and colleges in Delaware, Washington, Kentucky, Semester at Sea, Poland, and Hungary. His art has been shown at Bellevue Art Museum, the Mayor’s Gallery in Seattle, Pratt Fine Arts Center, and elsewhere. From 2015-2022, he curated the Public Art Program for the City of Shoreline, Washington. After curating for CoCA from 2005-2015, he returned as Interim Curatorial Director from 2023-2026.

Artists are encouraged to join CoCA today and be a part of this exhibition and printed catalog that brings artists together from across the globe. One piece will be selected for exhibition from each active CoCA Member Artist with a Directory page. Even if you don’t have any work available for display, all members with Directory pages will be included in our annual printed Members’ Catalog.

  • Artwork, statement and bio info must be updated on your member directory page NO LATER THAN June 13, 2026. You will have a chance to edit after selections are made.

DIGITAL FILE PREP

  • Digital images of your work should be saved as JPG files only (saved with maximum quality). Images need to be 2400 pixels on the long side. We cannot accept Photoshop PSD files or TIFF formats.
