floating slowly through layers of ancient ocean dwellers, we leave small emblems of civilization up above
I believe in representational art for its accessibility and in abstract art for its communication of the unseen. Art should be mysterious so viewers have an opportunity to bring individual meaning.
I like drawing as a meditation on the inner life of what we see. Drawing and painting from life keeps art fresh, spontaneous and personal.
I strive to present an interesting subject in a dramatic value pattern with lively line, texture and rich color.
I continue to study in classes and workshops with local artists, life drawing studios and plein air painting.
My inspirations are natural forms, human and animal figures, dream imagery.
