Judith Kindler presents a view of contemporary life that at times is humorous yet reveals the hard truth underlying the type of dependency on consumerism prevailing now, as well as our cultural exploitation of it.

Darbury Stenderu has taken this traditional craft and updated it as a medium in which to incorporate and preserve her original prints. The Art Quilt stands out as soft sculpture, a visual two-dimensional format that can speak to people while preserving her signature patterning and repetition.

     
 

A Group Exhibition: The Seafair Ball Invitational

Consisting of 21 paintings and multimedia works, this exhibit features a diverse selection of 9 well established Seattle artists. With the vigilant integration of textural patterning, poetic imagery, realism, recycled materials and collage, this exhibit of expertly designed works was specifically built to enhance the audience’s awareness of both the materials and methods of intricate perception.

     
 

A Group Exhibition: Inquiry as Collection
August 30, 2007 through September 27, 2007


Wonder Cabinets, Collage, Assemblage, an exploration of the ways in which contemporary artists deploy strategies of collecting in both two- and three-dimensional works. The exhibit also demonstrates the resurgence of interest in Renaissance "curiosity cabinets," known for their often idiosyncratic combinations of art and science.
