Carkeek Park Outdoor Art Exhibit: Heaven and Earth

The monumental scale of this work, combined with its kinetic form and materials creates an imposing curiosity. It is a spectacle of sticks and branches which will attract an audience. Its complete lack of construction method or internal framing gives the impression that it may have formed itself somehow.

“Visitor” is made of young trees and branches found alongside of Interstate 5 in Seattle. The branches have been cut down, or torn down by storms. They have risen up in the shape of a friendly star to watch over the park for a time. Suddenly one day it will travel on to visit another place, leaving only its memory behind.
