I am drawn to the sweetness of the grove and the orderly cultivated trees. To the side, an unruly mound of blackberry cane encroaches. I propose a mediation: the snag’s base serves as a structure around which to weave the cane and stud its thorns with huckleberries, snowberries or other found native fruits such as rosehips or Strawberry Tree (Arbutus unedo). The work will gradually dry and degrade over time, eliminating some of the invasive and supplanting it with native seeds.
