Here and There June 12 - July 31 At CoCA and 11 locations around Seattle Gallery Talk: June 19, 1 p.m., CoCA Artists on Site: July 17, 1 p.m.- 4 p.m., pick up map at CoCA Here and There showcases the work of a collaborative group of
ten Seattle-based visual artists who will be working in various Seattle
area neighborhoods to produce artwork that responds to local conditions.
Each artist will work alongside community members for several weeks. The
resulting 11 works will be installed in their location of creation ("there")
and at CoCA ("here"). A map/catalog will be produced to guide viewers
from site to site on self-conducted tours. "There" sites will be free
and open to the public throughout the exhibition period. On June 19, Here
and There artists will give a gallery talk at 1 p.m. at CoCA. They will
also be available at each site to talk with visitors and answer questions
on Saturday, July 17, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Here and There artists include Harriet Sanderson, Ingrid Lahti, Mary
Zeran, Erin Shie Palmer, Ruth Marie Tomlinson, Colleen Hayward, Deborah
F. Lawrence, Rosemary Barile, Jennifer L. Dixon and Heather Dew Oaksen. This project is part of the Land/Use/Action series
at CoCA.
