Artist’s Statement:
My form of expression has an urban feel rooted in illustration and hand-drawing. I’m deeply inspired by various aspects of my culture as a Black American man. Mediums include ink, acrylic paint, graphic design and digital illustrations that come to life predominantly in the form of portraits and abstract design. I view my portraits as a celebration of black excellence, depicting someone who has inspired me, in a unique style. I love to show black people in a positive light through my art. As I grow in my craft, I attempt to portray my work in various styles to not only improve my skills, but to find my niche as well. Pushing my creative limits gives each piece it’s own unique set of challenges that will ultimately improve my creative capabilities. The freedom to express myself that visual art gives, is what helps drive me as an artist.

My goal as an artist is to maximize my talents as much as possible, while hopefully inspiring those who may come in contact with my work. I have learned a lot about myself through my artistic journey and I try to channel that energy into my art. My work is not perfect, but it fits me perfectly and a part of me is in each piece. If my art leaves a positive impact or moves people, then I feel it has fulfilled its purpose.
